Dieffenbachias, also known as dumb cane plants, are a delight for plant parents due to their easy care and stunning foliage.

Appearance: These tropical perennials feature pointed, ovate leaves in various shades of green, cream, and white, adding charm to any space. In ideal conditions, they can grow up to 10 feet tall, but when placed indoors, they typically remain smaller.

Watering: Avoid overwatering by allowing the top 2 inches of soil to dry out completely between waterings. Ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot, a common problem with Dieffenbachia plants.

Light: Dieffenbachias thrive in partial shade and should be placed in areas with indirect sunlight. Drooping or yellowing leaves may indicate insufficient light.

Soil: Plant dieffenbachias in well-draining soil to prevent waterlogged conditions that lead to root rots. For optimal growth, a soil mix specifically designed for garden plants, like our Gardengram Soil Mix, is recommended.

Fertilizer: Regular feeding is essential for Dieffenbachia plants. Use Gardengram's Dr. Health and Grow N Glow plant food every 20 days to promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage (it is recommended to wear gloves while propagating, pruning or providing plant food).

Extra Tip: Rotate the plant 1/4 turn with each watering to ensure balanced growth and prevent leaning.

Protect your Dieffenbachia from cold drafts and spider mites by placing it away from drafty areas and periodically inspecting for pests. Wear gloves when handling the plant, as its sap can cause skin irritation. With proper care, your dieffenbachia will thrive and continue to beautify your home for years to come.
